Social Selling Before Tropic

Social selling has always been something that I've done, even though I wasn't aware I was even doing it. If you use social media, you have probably taken part in social selling. So - what is it?

Depending on who you ask, social selling has slightly different definitions. Simply put, I like to define it as using your social media and content to recommend or highlight a product/service.

Think about it - how many times have you recommended a product to your friends? How many times have you posted a snapshot of food from a restaurant you visited on your Instagram story? That's social selling... You're just not always getting paid for it.

For pretty much the whole three years that I've been using Tropic, I've been posting on my social media about it. I'd been social selling these products for years without getting paid - but as an Ambassador I'm now getting paid to promote these products!

My customers who follow my personal Instagram know how long I've been using these products, and that I was a customer first myself. There's a genuine authenticity when I recommend products or post skincare tips, and that's what makes me sales. I can connect with my audience in a way that they relate to, and that in turn builds trust when they shop with me.

Thinking back, it would've made so much sense for me to have become an Ambassador back in 2017. Sadly I didn't, but through three years of social selling as a customer I've managed to build up a reputation on my Instagram for being 'the Tropic girl', and I think my rambling is taken more seriously because it's been so long... Or at least I hope it does!

Yes, I make money from selling Tropic products. Yes, I post fairly regularly on my social media about the company. Yes, it makes me sales!

Are you ready to start  getting paid for social selling?
