Review: Perfect Skin Resurfacing Body Lotion

Image
I've been using Perfect skin for about a week now so I had to write up a review for it. It's one of those products that gives amazing results from day one, and if you don't believe me, try it for yourself! Perfect Skin is an exfoliator, or resurfacing body lotion. It's super moisturising whilst still being strong enough to thoroughly exfoliate the top layer of skin, getting rid of all those dead skin cells to let the new, glowing skin shine through! Similar to the Fruit Peel serum, this body lotion uses plant AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids) which chemically exfoliates the skin without the need for rubbing or scrubbing. If you're like me and have somewhat sensitive skin, especially after shaving, scrubs can be too harsh and leave your skin blotchy and red - Perfect Skin doesn't do that. Combined with pomegranate enzymes, your dead skin cells won't stand a chance! As Perfect Skin is a body lotion, it uses noni fruit extract which is rich in antioxidants to promot...

Glowy Tropic Makeup Look

Image
One benefit of being on furlough is I now have more time to play with makeup! Here's a quick round up of the products I use to make my glowy everyday look. (Not I'm only listing the Tropic products used!) Beauty Booster Sheer Foundation Shop here The shade Barely Nude is just perfect for my skin but if I was any paler it would be a tad too orange. If I'm looking for buildable coverage if my skin is playing up I tend to apply the normal amount with a brush and then go back in with a beauty blender to cover up any blemishes. It's dewy, weightless and looks lovely just worn by itself as it really does make you glow. Way To Glow Pressed Highlighter Shop here I use the shade Afterglow but I'm tempted to try one of the more pink shades for a more natural glow. It's super pigmented which I didn't expect and a little goes a long way! Too much can leave the colour of the highlight on my skin rather than the sparkle which I don't like - so that's something t...

Happy New Year

Image
2020 is finally over, here's to 2021 being a much better year! Although this year wasn't the year I wanted or expected, it hasn't been all bad. Here are some things I'm thankful for in the last 12 months. I started a new relationship and managed to maintain it during two lockdowns. I explored more of my local area and spent more time outdoors. I valued time spent with friends and family even more than I did previously. I started a new business with Tropic and have loved every second of it! What are you grateful for this year?

Professional Shampoo RUINED my Hair

Image
When I say that a certain professional-quality shampoo ruined my hair, I mean it ruined my hair. It's taken six weeks to get my hair back into good shape with Tropic products, but now it's never looked healthier! I figured that if my hair salon used it, it would be totally fine for me to use at home... Big yikes. I used the shampoo & conditioner for around 3 months before swapping over to the Tropic hair system. Then lockdown happened, I ran out of product, and I went back to using the toxic products. Around August I began to realise that I didn't actually like my hair. The colour would always fade quickly when I got it dyed (which I go to my hairdresser for), it was always tangled, brittle, dry, frizzy, and would become oily very quickly. It got to the point where I was having to wash my hair almost daily because it just wasn't looking clean!  I didn't think that much of it, just putting it down to the fact that my hair must be like this, and I carried on usi...

Skincare as Self Care

Image
I love using my skincare routine as a form of self care. After a stressful day at work or a bad mental health day, coming home and pampering myself, even if only by doing my skincare routine, is a good way to relieve some of that stress. Self care in general has so many benefits , such as improving your mental health as well as physical health, helping improve your relationships, and reducing stress. It doesn't have to be something big either, it can be as simple as taking a bubble bath, going for a walk outside, or flossing after brushing your teeth. Here are some self care tips to work into your skincare routine: Double cleanse to make sure your make up is totally removed When using our Smoothing Cleanser, dampen your face cloth in warm water and then lay it on your face for a couple of minutes while you breathe in the essential oils Use a jade roller to apply your serums or oils Try giving yourself a face massage when applying your face oil Apply tamanu balm to any spots, scra...
